Enfield, North Carolina – A 22-year-old woman has been taken into custody for allegedly stabbing her 10-year-old sister to death. Kaneijah Zyir Bradley was arrested on Tuesday after authorities discovered the child’s body in the family’s backyard. The motive for the attack remains unknown as investigators continue their inquiry.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from the girls’ mother, reporting her 10-year-old daughter missing on Beaverdam Road. Upon arrival, deputies found the little girl’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds. Bradley was swiftly identified as a suspect and was subsequently charged with murder.
Authorities are urging anyone with information pertaining to the case to come forward and contact Lieutenant R. Somogyi. While the investigation continues, the community mourns the tragic loss and shares their condolences with the grieving family.
It is important to note that Bradley had been released on bond at the time of the crime, as she had been previously arrested on two separate occasions in 2023. One incident involved the alleged assault of her boyfriend with a box cutter, while the other incident saw her charged with assaulting a law enforcement official.
As the case progresses, more details are expected to emerge. The court proceedings for Bradley’s prior arrests are set to take place in the coming weeks.
