The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to their age, appeared in Rhode Island Family Court on Tuesday. Apart from murder, the teen is also facing charges of conspiracy and firearm possession.

The incident occurred on February 1, when police responded to Legion Memorial Drive and discovered Emil Rodriguez lying on the street near Neutaconkanut Park. The victim had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was celebrated as a talented athlete, having won two consecutive Washington Park Little League Championships and other accolades.

With the weight of grief and financial struggles, Evelyn expressed her gratitude to anyone willing to support them through this difficult time. While facing the fear of losing their home and falling behind on bills and rent, the family is seeking assistance.
