15-Year-Old Subway Employee Shot in Face

A 15-year-old girl, an employee at a Subway restaurant, was allegedly shot in the face by a woman who walked into the establishment. The suspect, 37-year-old Alisa Jewel Reed, is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center in North Carolina, facing charges that include attempted first-degree murder. The identity of the young victim has not been disclosed by the Spring Lake police in the Fayetteville area, but her mother has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to aid in her daughter’s extensive recovery process. The teenager has been left “permanently disabled and handicapped” as a result of the incident.

The mother of the victim has shared that her daughter is now faced with the daunting task of relearning basic daily activities, such as eating and walking. The severity of her injuries necessitates several more surgeries and therapies. These include physical and occupational therapy, as well as mental health support to help her cope with the traumatic experience.

The incident occurred on March 12, when Spring Lake police responded to a call at the Subway restaurant on Murchison Road around 5 p.m. They arrived to find the teenage employee injured inside the establishment. A 911 caller, who identified themselves as a witness, reported that a customer had fired a shot into the building.

The witness, in a call to 911, reported seeing a customer shoot into the building and hit the 16-year-old manager in the face. Another caller indicated that the bullet had struck the girl in the eye. The police report stated that an altercation between employees and a customer had escalated, resulting in the customer shooting the young employee.

Reed was subsequently arrested by Fayetteville police. The Spring Lake police department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact them at 910-436-0350.
