21-Year-Old Influencer Killed After Shocking Ambush

Brianna Johnson, known online as DreamDoll Brii and ItGirlBri, died after a triple shooting that also left two men critically injured.

MIRAMAR, Fla. — A 21-year-old South Florida influencer was killed and two men were critically injured Sunday morning when gunfire struck a lime green Lamborghini in Miramar, police said.

Brianna Johnson, known online as DreamDoll Brii and ItGirlBri, died after the shooting near Southwest 27th Court and Sunshine Boulevard, according to police and family members. The attack happened during the Fourth of July holiday weekend and drew wide attention because of Johnson’s large social media following and the unusual details surrounding the vehicle, the crash and an earlier reported gas station confrontation.

Miramar police said officers responded about 5:30 a.m. Sunday after multiple ShotSpotter alerts in the area. Investigators said Johnson and two men were inside a fluorescent green Lamborghini Urus traveling westbound when a white sedan pulled alongside the driver’s side near an intersection. Someone in the sedan opened fire, striking all three people inside the Lamborghini, police said. The wounded driver lost control, and the SUV drifted through the intersection before crashing into a house nearby.

Emergency crews arrived and found Johnson and the two men suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where Johnson later died from her injuries. The two men remained in critical condition Monday, authorities said. Police did not release their names. Miramar police spokeswoman Janice McIntosh said detectives were treating the case as a homicide investigation and were working to identify the shooter or shooters.

Authorities said the early evidence suggests the shooting may have been targeted, though they had not announced a motive or made any arrests by Monday afternoon. Investigators were reviewing surveillance video from the area and gathering witness statements from people who may have seen the Lamborghini or the white sedan before the shooting. Police said they had limited suspect information in the first hours of the investigation.

The case took on another layer after video circulated showing what appeared to be an altercation involving the Lamborghini at a Shell gas station before the shooting. Police were aware of the video and were examining whether the earlier confrontation was connected to the gunfire, according to reports. Investigators had not publicly confirmed a direct link as of Monday, and they had not said whether Johnson or the two men were involved in the confrontation.

Neighbors near the crash scene said they first thought the gunfire might have been fireworks because it happened during the holiday weekend. Some came outside after hearing the shots and found emergency vehicles, police tape and the damaged Lamborghini near the home. Carlos Regueiro, who lives nearby, told CBS News Miami that the violence was unsettling. “There’s no reason for that type of behavior,” he said.

Johnson’s death sparked grief across social media, where she had built a large audience on TikTok and Instagram. Family members confirmed she was the influencer known as DreamDoll Brii. Thousands of users posted condolences on her accounts after news of her death spread Monday. Johnson was also linked to music content, including the viral track “Bend Ova,” which gained traction on TikTok and helped expand her online profile.

Police said the shooting unfolded in a residential area of Miramar, a Broward County city west of Hollywood and south of Pembroke Pines. The crash into a home added to the danger, but officials did not report injuries to anyone inside the house. Detectives continued to process the scene Sunday as they marked evidence, checked nearby cameras and worked to trace the route of both vehicles.

The white sedan remained a key focus of the investigation. Surveillance video described by police and local media appeared to show the sedan near the Lamborghini before the shooting. Investigators were working to determine who was inside the sedan, where it went after the gunfire and whether it had followed the Lamborghini from another location. Police had not released a license plate number or suspect description by Monday.

Johnson’s death also brought renewed attention to the speed at which online figures can become public names in local crime cases. To many followers, she was known through short videos, fashion posts, music clips and a public image built across platforms. To detectives, she became the victim in a homicide investigation with two other victims still hospitalized and several unanswered questions about what led up to the shooting.

The investigation is expected to continue through surveillance review, witness interviews and forensic work on the Lamborghini and the crash scene. Detectives also are expected to review social media posts and videos connected to the hours before the shooting. Police had not said whether Johnson was driving or riding as a passenger at the time the white sedan pulled alongside the SUV.

As of Monday, no arrests had been announced. Miramar homicide detectives were seeking information from anyone who saw the white sedan, the Lamborghini or the events before the shooting. The next major step is the release of more suspect information, if investigators are able to confirm it through video, witness accounts or other evidence.
