The tragic death of a 23-year-old Australian woman, Chloe Jade Mason, has left her family and friends in deep sorrow. Mason was found lifeless on Railway Parade in Caboolture, a suburb in Queensland, around 12:10 a.m. on a recent Sunday. Despite immediate first aid and CPR provided by the police, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities suspect that Mason, also known as CeeJay, was assaulted and subsequently shot by two men who allegedly pursued her down a suburban street in the middle of the night. The suspects are yet to be apprehended. Mason’s sister, Dani, expressed her grief, describing her late sister as an incredible individual who didn’t deserve such a tragic end.
In the wake of Mason’s suspicious death, a homicide investigation has been initiated. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their investigation. Hannah McKone, another sister of Mason, mourned the loss of her younger sibling, lamenting the life experiences they would never get to share.
In an effort to give Mason a proper farewell, McKone has initiated a fundraising campaign. The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise funds for Mason’s funeral service, as the family is financially strained, especially with the holiday season approaching.
Queensland Police Minister, Dan Purdie, assured the community that there is no cause for alarm. He stated that the incident was a targeted attack and both the victim and the alleged perpetrators were known to each other. He expressed confidence in the police’s ability to solve the case promptly and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Mason’s friends have also taken to social media to remember her. Many shared heartfelt messages, expressing their sorrow and reminiscing about their time with Mason. Detective Inspector David Harbison, who spoke to the media, confirmed that the initial investigation suggests Mason was assaulted by two men and that up to four gunshots were fired. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet.
