3 Teens Shot, 1 Killed at Local Sports Complex

CHANDLER, Ariz. – A tragic shooting at Snedigar Sportsplex on Sunday night has resulted in the death of one teenager and left two others wounded. The incident took place in Chandler, a city located in southern Arizona.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Chandler police officers responded to a call at the park, situated at the intersection of Alma School Road and Lake Drive. They found three individuals who had been shot.

One of the victims, identified as 16-year-old Jaylan Collins, lost his life at the scene. The two other teenagers, a boy and a girl, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.

Local news outlet 12News spoke with Collins’s parents on Monday. Although the family declined to appear on camera, they revealed that they had last spoken with their son on Sunday afternoon and had not received much information about the incident.

At present, no arrests have been made in connection to the case. The police consider the shooting to be an “isolated incident” and have reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat. The altercation involved two groups who were familiar with each other, and none of the individuals involved were Chandler residents.
