6-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead While Playing Video Games in Bed

Police are searching for the killers of a 6-year-old boy in Lynchburg, Virginia, who was tragically shot in the head in his own bed.

Authorities arrived late Monday night to discover Kingston Campbell, a beloved kindergartener, already dead. Surveillance footage showed multiple suspects firing into the boy’s home shortly before 11 pm.

Shay Fowler, Kingston’s mother, released a statement expressing grief and shock at the loss of her son. She noted that Kingston was playing video games, which he loved doing when the tragedy unfolded. His two sisters were in the same room, witnessing him die. In the statement, Fowler hoped that no one else would have to endure the pain her family was experiencing.

The Lynchburg Police Department has issued an official statement asking for the public’s help in identifying and capturing the shooters. They noted that this killing was a terrible and senseless act that had no place in their community and that the victim and his family deserved justice.

In response to the tragedy, the community of Lynchburg has come together to support Kingston’s family. A GoFundMe page was created to help alleviate funeral costs. The outpouring of love and support has been a source of comfort for the family as they process their unimaginable loss.
