7-Year-Old Boy Dies in Car Window

In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old boy lost his life after his head became trapped in a car window. His mother, who was reportedly under the influence of drugs, was found unconscious in the vehicle’s front seat. The incident occurred in Atlanta in April, and the mother has now been charged with murder.

The boy, identified as Mazi Simmons, was discovered unresponsive and not breathing, his head protruding from the rear window of a parked car. His mother, 32-year-old Kandice Grace, was found unconscious in the driver’s seat. Two other children were also present in the car at the time of the incident.

Grace was arrested on Monday and faces charges of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. A warrant obtained by People magazine revealed that a blood and urine test conducted on Grace tested positive for opioids and THC.

According to the warrant, a witness informed the police that Grace had visited his home around 10 p.m. the previous night. She chose to leave her children in the car, not wanting them to enter the house. She left shortly after her visit.

The following morning, the witness noticed Grace’s car in the parking lot, with the young boy’s head hanging out of the window. The witness tried to rouse Grace by banging on the car. The unconscious boy was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police later located Grace at a neighbor’s house with her youngest child. The warrant alleges that Grace kept losing consciousness while sitting up and holding her child when investigators attempted to speak with her. Grace is currently being held at the Fulton County jail.
