Alabama Deputy and Dispatcher Killed in Murder-Suicide

A tragic incident unfolded in Orange Beach, Alabama, when two employees of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office lost their lives in an apparent murder-suicide. Deputy Kenneth Booth and dispatcher Lexi White, who were reportedly in a romantic relationship, were the victims of this unfortunate event.

The incident began with a heated argument between Booth and White, as reported by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office. The dispute escalated to a point where Booth allegedly drew his firearm, fatally shooting White before turning the weapon on himself.

The Orange Beach Police Department was the first to respond to the scene. They subsequently reached out to their counterparts in Cullman County on Thursday morning to relay the tragic news.

Sheriff Matt Gentry of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office expressed his profound grief over the incident. He stated that the entire department was in shock and deeply saddened by the loss of two of their own. He extended his condolences to the families of both victims and asked for prayers for them and for the entire Sheriff’s Office.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identities of the deceased as their own dispatcher, Alexis White, and deputy, Kenneth Booth Jr. The department is mourning the loss of two valued members of their team.

The Orange Beach Police Department is currently leading the investigation into the incident. As of now, no additional information has been released.

Sheriff Gentry shared a heartfelt tribute to Lexi White, who had been a part of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office since she was 16. She was a charter member of their Youth Leadership Academy. Gentry expressed his deep sorrow, stating that he felt as if he had lost one of his own children.
