A 43-year-old Florida man, Nathan Gingles, was arrested by law enforcement officers following the issuance of an Amber Alert for his 4-year-old daughter. The child’s mother and grandfather were discovered deceased from gunshot injuries. Gingles was apprehended at a Walmart Supercenter in North Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, with his unharmed daughter in his company. He now faces three charges of premeditated murder.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office, after an intensive investigation, identified two separate crime scenes in adjacent residences. Gingles is accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife, Mary Catherine Gingles, 34, her father David Pozner, 64, and another man, Andrew Ferrin, 36, in Tamarac. Pozner’s body was discovered on the back porch of Mary Gingles’ residence, while Mary Gingles and Ferrin were found in the neighboring house. Ferrin was reportedly the nephew of the Gingles’ neighbor.
The case unfolded on the morning of February 16, when local residents reported hearing gunshots from Mary Gingles’ home around 6 a.m. Upon arrival, police found Pozner with a fatal gunshot wound, prompting a homicide investigation. Shortly after discovering Pozner’s body, investigators learned that his 4-year-old granddaughter had been removed from the premises, leading to the issuance of an Amber Alert.
Court records revealed that Mary Gingles had filed for divorce from Nathan Gingles in February 2024, citing domestic violence. She had also sought and received an order of protection against him in December 2024. The child at the center of the Amber Alert was shared between Mary Gingles and her estranged husband.
As the investigation at Pozner’s residence continued, evidence led officers to the neighboring house where Mary Gingles and Ferrin were found. Local news outlet WPLG reported that neighbors had observed footprints, believed to be Mary Gingles’, indicating she had sought help from nearby homes.
Law enforcement officers were able to locate Nathan Gingles by identifying his silver BMW X3 with a Texas license plate. He was arrested at the Walmart and taken to the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he is being held without bond. In addition to the murder charges, Gingles is also facing charges for violating a domestic violence protection order and interfering with the custody of a minor.
