Boy, 10 Confesses to Cold Blood Murder at Age 7

Gonzales, Texas – A shocking revelation emerged last week when a 10-year-old boy confessed to the murder of Brandon O’Quinn Rasberry, a case that has baffled authorities for over two years. Despite the chilling confession, Texas law prohibits the prosecution of children under the age of 10. The boy provided key details about the 2022 slaying that were previously undisclosed to the public.

According to the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office, Rasberry, 32, was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head and minor graze wounds on his hands. Investigators believe he had been deceased for two days before his employer reported him missing. The victim had only recently moved into the RV park where the crime occurred.

Police had exhausted all leads in the case until a local principal contacted authorities last week, reporting the 10-year-old’s confession and threats to harm another student. The department then reached out to the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, believing the child may possess information regarding Rasberry’s murder.

During interviews with the police, the boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, provided a detailed account of the cold-blooded murder he allegedly committed at the age of 7. He stated that while visiting his grandfather at the RV park, he noticed Rasberry walking around and proceeded to enter his RV with a 9-millimeter pistol taken from his grandfather’s truck. The child confessed to shooting Rasberry once in the head while he slept and firing an additional shot into the couch before leaving the scene.

Investigators have been unable to determine a motive for the murder, as the boy claimed to have never met Rasberry and admitted to being unaware of his name. The gun used in the crime was subsequently located at a pawn shop where the child’s grandfather had sold it. The weapon was matched with spent shell casings found at the crime scene.

Shockingly, Texas law prevents the child from being charged with Rasberry’s death due to his age at the time of the incident. This has left the victim’s family both outraged and perplexed. The boy was placed on a 72-hour emergency detention following his confession and is currently being held in county jail on charges related to threats against a classmate.

As the investigation into this disturbing case continues, authorities will strive to uncover any additional evidence or information related to the motive behind this senseless act of violence.
