The tragic aftermath of a medical transport plane crash in Philadelphia has claimed its eighth victim, three months after the incident. Dominique Goods-Burke, a 34-year-old mother of three, succumbed to her injuries on April 27. Goods-Burke was in a car with her fiancé, Steven Dreuitt, and her son when debris from the falling plane struck their vehicle, causing it to ignite. The accident resulted in Dreuitt’s immediate death, while Goods-Burke’s son sustained severe burns.
Goods-Burke was hospitalized at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital for the duration of her battle with her injuries. According to a spokesperson from the city’s Medical Examiner’s Office, her death was attributed to the injuries sustained in the crash and subsequent health complications.
Goods-Burke was remembered fondly by her colleagues at High Point Café, where she worked. They took to social media to pay tribute to her, describing her as a fighter who battled her injuries and health issues for three months. They also remembered her for her kind smile, beautiful spirit, and loving heart.
A GoFundMe post set up in her memory described Goods-Burke as a devoted mother to her three children and a loving partner. The post revealed that she was out shopping when the tragic incident occurred. The Learjet 55 air ambulance, returning to Mexico, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all six people on board, including a young girl who had just received life-saving treatment in Philadelphia.
The crash also resulted in injuries to about two dozen people on the ground and caused significant damage to more than a dozen homes. The incident, which occurred just two days after a midair collision between a military helicopter and an American Airlines plane claimed 67 lives in Washington, is still under investigation.
Meg Hagele, the founder of High Point Cafe, spoke highly of Goods-Burke. She described her as an amazing mother, an incredible baker, and a pillar of the café. Hagele added that Goods-Burke’s daughter would often visit the café after school, and her presence would be greatly missed. A funeral service for Goods-Burke is scheduled for Thursday.
