Jacksonville Beach, Florida – Police are on the hunt for multiple suspects after a shooting incident in downtown Jacksonville Beach on Sunday night left one person dead and two others injured. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department responded to an “active shooter incident” and urged people to shelter in place while the situation was brought under control.
According to Sgt. Tonya Tator, the shooting took place in broad daylight. Three victims were shot and transported to a local hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead. The other two victims are currently in stable condition. Authorities are working to uncover more information about the suspects involved.
As a result of the shooting, the downtown district, bar area, and beachfront in Jacksonville Beach were placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. This security measure will remain in effect until further notice.
Sgt. Tator stated that the investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are actively seeking suspect descriptions. They are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
