Father Charged in Shooting of His Three Sons

A Florida resident, Christopher Lee Brown, 36, is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting his three juvenile sons during a dispute over a family car. Brown was apprehended on Sunday following the incident, which took place in his Ruskin neighborhood, according to court documents.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to the shooting around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered Brown’s three sons, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The identities and ages of the boys have not been disclosed.

The boys were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Despite their injuries, none of the wounds were life-threatening, and all three boys survived.

Investigating detectives revealed that the incident was triggered by a disagreement over a car. Brown allegedly confronted his sons about the vehicle, leading to a heated argument that escalated into the shooting.

One of the boys was reportedly struck in the head with the gun, causing it to discharge. The bullet grazed the boy’s jawline and hit his earlobe. Brown then allegedly attempted to flee in his car, with the other two boys in pursuit. It was during this chase that Brown allegedly fired several shots at his sons.

Court documents also revealed a chilling recording from the father to his sons following the incident. In the recording, he allegedly stated, “I tried to take your life” and “You won’t make it to Wednesday.”

The state attorney’s office has since filed a pretrial motion to keep Brown in custody until his trial. Brown is now facing a series of felony charges. These include three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, three counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm or deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public or residential property, two counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling, resisting an officer without violence, and criminal mischief.
