A fire broke out at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT park on Saturday, prompting the evacuation of guests from the recently added “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” ride. The fire originated in the ride’s backstage area, sending a column of dark smoke into the sky above the France Pavilion section of the Orlando-based theme park. The incident took place shortly after 7 p.m., as reported by local news outlets.
Disney officials confirmed the safe evacuation of all park visitors from the ride, which is themed around the beloved animated mouse character. The “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” ride provides a 4D experience, inviting guests to accompany Chef Remy on an exciting culinary journey through a Parisian kitchen, dining room, and restaurant.
Shortly after the incident, social media platforms were inundated with videos showing the dark smoke ascending above the scenic park. The videos, shared by park visitors from various locations within the theme park, depicted the smoke cloud overshadowing a large portion of the clear, blue Florida sky.
Local authorities reported no injuries resulting from the fire, which was quickly extinguished. At the time of the incident, EPCOT was hosting the International Flower & Garden Festival.
