Five Masked Men Launch Attack During Graduation Ceremony

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – A charter school graduation celebration in Long Island took a violent turn on Wednesday when five masked assailants launched an attack, leaving two people injured. The incident occurred outside Hofstra University’s David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex following the conclusion of the ceremony.

Sources indicate that the attack was premeditated and targeted an adult guest and a graduate of Uniondale Charter School. The assailants, wearing masks, slashed one adult in the leg and a graduate in the ear. Academy Charter High Schools officials suggest that the motive behind the attack might be linked to a domestic dispute.

Security measures were in place at the graduation venue, with all attendees passing through thorough security checks, including magnetometers. The attack, however, took place outside the venue, prompting Academy Charter High Schools to emphasize that their security team is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation conducted by Nassau County Police and Hofstra Public Safety officers.

Both victims were swiftly transported to nearby medical facilities and are expected to recover from their injuries. Despite the stringent security protocols, the incident has raised concerns about safety measures at public events.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, but no arrests have been made at this time. The community is anxiously awaiting further updates from law enforcement as they remain on edge.

The violent altercation has cast a shadow over what should have been a joyous occasion, underscoring the need for increased vigilance and security at large gatherings.
