A British Airways flight attendant was found in an unusual situation during a flight from San Francisco to London. The male attendant, whose identity remains undisclosed, was discovered in the business class restroom of an Airbus A380, unclothed and dancing. His colleagues have suggested that his behavior was the result of a drug-induced episode.
The incident unfolded when the attendant was unaccounted for during the meal service. This prompted a search by other crew members. He was eventually found in the Club World Cabin restroom by the in-flight crew manager, dancing without any clothes on. The Airbus A-380 jet, the world’s largest passenger plane, was mid-flight over the Atlantic at the time.
The crew members were forced to dress the naked flight attendant in First Class pajamas and restrain him for the remainder of the ten and a half hour journey. One crew member remarked, “The plane was cruising at 37,000 ft over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else.”
The crew member further added, “We believe the guy took drugs when he was supposed to be working. It’s an extraordinary thing to do.” The flight attendant, known for his party-loving nature, has since been suspended from his job.
The Airbus A380, carrying 470 passengers and crew members, landed safely at London’s Heathrow Airport at 11 a.m. last Sunday. Upon landing, police and medical personnel were waiting on the tarmac. The flight attendant was then placed in a wheelchair and taken into police custody.
The flight attendant has been suspended, and British Airways has stated that the investigation will be handled by the police. A fellow crew member commented on the incident, saying, “Not only is it really dangerous, it is a crazy way to end your BA career. This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me.”
