Garbage Collector Shot to Death During Shift

Hyattsville, MD – Police in Hyattsville, Maryland are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspects involved in the daylight murder of a garbage collector. The Prince George’s County Police Department has released photos and video footage of the two individuals believed to be connected to the shooting. The incident occurred on April 4 in the 6800 block of Greenvale Parkway, where Idongesit Udosen, 30, was fatally shot.

Responding to reports of a shooting, officers found Udosen in the roadway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have determined that the shooting was not a random act and are actively investigating the motive behind the crime. In an effort to gather more information, police released images of the suspects and the car used in the attack. The vehicle is described as a gray Kia sedan.

Video surveillance shows the car driving in the vicinity of Greenvale Parkway before the shooting. The footage also captures the vehicle parking on the street next to three garbage cans and a parked van. As Udosen arrived in his garbage truck, two suspects exited the car and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

To aid in apprehending the suspects, a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
