‘Gotti’ Star Actor Dies at 33

Canadian actor Spencer Lofranco, known for his roles in films such as “Jamesy Boy” and “Gotti,” has passed away at the age of 33. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation by authorities in British Columbia, Canada. The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Lofranco’s brother, Santino Lofranco, confirmed the news of his passing in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. In his post, Santino expressed his love and admiration for his brother, stating that Spencer had lived a life many could only dream of and had made a significant impact on people’s lives.

Lofranco’s acting career spanned seven films, beginning with his role in the 2013 romantic comedy “At Middleton,” alongside Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga, and Taissa Farmiga. He gained recognition for his portrayal of ex-convict James Burns in the 2014 biopic “Jamesy Boy,” directed by Trevor White. The film’s cast also included notable actors such as Taissa Farmiga, Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, and James Woods.

In 2018, Lofranco played a leading role in Kevin Connolly’s “Gotti,” a biopic about New York City mobster John Gotti. In the film, Lofranco portrayed John Gotti Jr., with John Travolta playing the role of Gotti. The film also starred Travolta’s late wife, Kelly Preston, as Victoria DiGiorgio Gotti.

Lofranco’s other film credits include Angelina Jolie’s 2014 war film “Unbroken,” the 2015 short film “Home,” the 2015 crime drama “Dixieland,” and the 2016 biopic “King Cobra,” which tells the story of gay pornographic film actor Sean Paul Lockhart.

In a 2014 interview with Interview magazine, Lofranco shared his love for performing, attributing it to his mother, a dancer, opera singer, and actor. He also expressed his admiration for Angelina Jolie, describing her as his “dream girl” and expressing his excitement about working with her on “Unbroken.”

Towards the end of the interview, Lofranco shared his aspirations for his career, stating his desire to work on real-life, candid films and to make wise choices about the roles he took on. He cited actors Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and River Phoenix as inspirations for their career choices.
