Man Breaks into Home and Violently Beats Man with Spiked Hammer

This week, a 59-year-old man from Texas was arrested after allegedly breaking into another man’s house and declaring that he owned the property. He then dragged the victim outside and hit him with a mallet with nails protruding from its head.

According to reports, Mark Sanchez had arrived at the victim’s house in Bexar County on Monday night. Several other individuals accompanied him. Sanchez allegedly asserted that he owned the home and commanded the victim to vacate immediately. They then began to assault him. The victim, who was not identified, told the police that Sanchez was armed with a dangerous weapon during the attack. It was described as a mallet that had nails driven into the head of it.

Afterward, the individuals reportedly dragged the victim outside. They continued to beat him until the victim could escape and call the police. Officers of the San Antonio Police Department allegedly found the head of a mallet with multiple nails sticking out and a trail of what seemed to be blood leading out of the victim’s door. Sanchez was arrested after he returned to the victim’s home with a gun and threatened to kill him.

It is currently unknown whether the suspect and victim were acquainted prior to the attack.

Sanchez was apprehended on Wednesday evening and was charged with a second-degree felony for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held at the Bexar County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
