High School Teacher Charged with Sexual Assault of Former Student

A high school teacher from New Jersey is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a former student. Alyssa Perry, 35, who is employed at Morris Knolls High School, is accused of assaulting the 17-year-old student twice at her home in Rockaway Township in February and March, as per the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Perry, who previously tutored the victim, is currently suspended from her teaching position at the school where the victim is enrolled.

The charges against Perry, which were filed on Friday, include two counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Following her arrest, Perry was released under pre-trial supervision with specific conditions that prohibit her from contacting the victim, any other students, or the school.

The alleged incidents were brought to the attention of the authorities when a school administrator reported suspected inappropriate behavior to the Denville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation into the allegations is still ongoing, and no additional information has been disclosed at this time.

Perry’s name appears on the Morris Knolls High School website as a cheerleading coach. Online reports indicate that she teaches math and holds a master’s degree in math education from Rutgers University. Fox News Digital has reached out to the school for a statement and has also attempted to contact Perry. Perry is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.
