Newport Beach, CA – In a gated home in the exclusive coastal neighborhood of Newport Beach, a homeowner shot a suspected intruder on Tuesday morning, according to police. The incident occurred at a residence on Pelican Hill Road and Newport Coast Drive, prompting officers to respond to a 911 call around 4:45 a.m.
Authorities believe the crime was a targeted incident involving a prior connection between the suspects and the victims. While details about the nature of the connection were not disclosed, police confirmed that the four individuals inside the home at the time were unharmed.
