Tragic news has emerged that Kyair Thomass, an infant twin kidnapped in Ohio last month, has passed away. A call was made to emergency services Saturday night reporting a baby not breathing at a Columbus home, and Kyair was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to NBC.
Kyair, along with his twin brother Kason, had been abducted on December 19th when Nalah Jackson stole the car they were in near a restaurant where their mother had gone to pick up a DoorDash order.
Kyair was found abandoned near Dayton International Airport hours later. Kason was located three days later near a Papa John’s pizza shop in Indianapolis in the same Honda Accord he was in when he was taken.
This fortunate discovery was made by two Indianapolis police officers who had been taking a break while searching for Kason. The family referred to the babies’ recovery as a “miracle,” as reported by WBNS.
Jackson was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping on the same day Kason was found.
Ohio Police released a statement on Facebook after finding Kason. It read, “We are grateful to the public for their help throughout this investigation, and for the tireless work of our officers and our many partner agencies. They never stopped, never gave up hope, and would not rest until Kason was found. We are beyond thankful for their relentless dedication.”
No additional information has been given on the cause of death. The Ohio Police Department will continue to investigate the case.
