Infant Fatally Attacked by Family Pit Bull

A tragic incident unfolded in Ohio when a seven-month-old infant was fatally attacked by one of the family’s three pit bulls, according to the child’s parents. The parents, Mackenzie Copley and Kameron Turner, shared their grief and disbelief on social media. Copley posted pictures of her daughter, Elizah Turner, interacting with the family dogs, expressing her devastation over the loss of her child who was often seen in the company of the dogs.

Copley’s Facebook post revealed her struggle to comprehend the tragic incident, stating that the dog involved in the incident was often seen alongside her baby. The father, Turner, also expressed his sorrow on social media, questioning how he could continue living without his daughter.

Elizah Turner was known for her constant smile, according to her parents. Her obituary described her as a child whose laughter was infectious and whose presence could light up a room. The exact circumstances leading to the fatal incident, however, remain unclear.

According to the police, the situation escalated rapidly after Elizah was bitten by one of the family dogs. No further details about the incident have been released, and it remains uncertain which of the three family dogs was involved in the attack.

Following the incident, Franklin County Animal Control seized the three dogs. The fate of the dogs will be decided after an investigation into the incident is completed. The Columbus Police have described the incident as a tragic accident.

Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua expressed his condolences, stating that everyone involved in the process was grieving as if the child was their own. He added that most of them were parents themselves and could not imagine the scene that unfolded.
