Michelle Beisner-Buck, an NFL features reporter for ESPN, is currently on the injured list following an unfortunate golf accident involving her husband, Joe Buck. The incident, which resulted in a fractured ankle for Beisner-Buck, was first reported by their ESPN colleague, Adam Schefter, on Wednesday. According to Schefter, the injury occurred when Joe Buck inadvertently hit a golf ball into his wife’s ankle.
Beisner-Buck, who has been with ESPN since 2014, is a regular contributor to the network’s “Monday Night Countdown” program. Prior to her career in sports journalism, she was a cheerleader for the Denver Broncos. Her husband, Joe Buck, is a well-known sports broadcaster who joined ESPN as the voice of “Monday Night Football” in 2022. He works alongside color commentator Troy Aikman, his former partner at Fox Sports.
The couple, who married in 2014, have twin sons, Blake and Wyatt, born in 2018. Buck also has two daughters, Trudy and Natalie, from a previous marriage. Interestingly, Buck has cited his wife as a key reason for his move to ESPN, as it allows them to spend more time together during the football season.
In a 2022 interview, Buck humorously noted the potential impact of their increased time together. “It dawned on us that we’re actually gonna have no time apart. I don’t know what this is going to do for my marriage and our relationship, but we’ll just have to roll the dice and hope that it makes it stronger — instead of ending it,” he said.
This is not the first time Schefter has reported on an injury to an ESPN colleague. He was also the first to share the news of NFL reporter Field Yates’ shoulder injury in August. Yates sustained the injury during a fantasy football league event in the Bahamas, which resulted in a brief hospital stay.
