The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has announced the unfortunate passing of Kyle Jacobs, the husband of country music singer Kellie Pickler, in what is speculated to be a suicide.
The department reported that a 911 call was made from a Sneed Road home in the West Precinct at 1:21 p.m. on Friday, where officers and the Nashville Fire Department discovered Jacobs’ body due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.
Pickler stated that she woke up moments earlier and was unable to access the bedroom/office, causing her assistant to contact the police.
Jacobs was a well-known songwriter and producer, having written Garth Brooks’ “More Than a Memory” and Tim McGraw’s “Still.” He also received an ACM Award in 2014 for producing Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck.” Jacobs and Pickler married in 2011.
The Academy of Country Music tweeted their deep sadness, conveying their sympathies and love for Pickler.
