Lindsay Lohan’s Father Arrested on Assault Charges

Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was recently taken into custody in Texas on charges of assault. The 64-year-old was accused of physically assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major, leading to his arrest on charges of “continuous violence against the family,” according to a spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident reportedly occurred while Major was at a doctor’s appointment. Lohan was seen in the parking lot of the building, prompting a call to the police. Major, 42, filed a report with the responding officers, alleging that Lohan had forcefully flipped her out of a chair a few days prior. She reported experiencing pain and discomfort, and a female deputy confirmed visible bruising on Major.

Lohan is currently being held on a $30,000 bond. His mugshot was later released to the public. Representatives for Lindsay Lohan and Michael Lohan have not yet provided any comments on the matter.

Lohan and Major were married in 2014 but have been estranged since 2018. Major filed for divorce just over a month after being arrested for domestic battery. She had requested full custody of their two sons, Landon and Logan, at the time. Lohan also has four children, including Lindsay, from his previous marriage to Dina Lohan, which lasted from 1985 to 2007.

This is not the first time Lohan has had legal troubles. He was arrested in 2020 for allegedly being physically abusive. In June 2024, police were called during a heated argument between Lohan and Major. Major had posted a now-deleted video on Instagram showing the altercation outside their home. She later told officers that Lohan needed psychiatric help. Lohan defended himself on Facebook, claiming that Major was intoxicated.
