Texas man has been taken into custody on suspicion of brutally murdering his father, whom he believed had been subjected to organ harvesting by extraterrestrials. Jaime Adrian Contreras, 39, was apprehended on Monday after his father, Victor Gerardo Contreras, 74, was discovered deceased in their shared El Paso home, as per the local police department.
The gruesome discovery was made by another son who had grown concerned after not hearing from his father for several weeks. Upon arriving at the residence for a wellness check, he was met with the stench of decaying flesh. Court documents reveal that he found a blood-soaked sheet on the floor, beneath which lay his father’s body, showing signs of severe head trauma.
The son had also noticed his father’s Jeep Wrangler was missing and had sent numerous messages to his brother, Jaime Contreras, but received no response. Further investigation by authorities revealed the victim had a slit throat, multiple stab wounds around his neck, and had been disemboweled.
Detectives executing a search warrant found blood splattered throughout the residence, suggesting a struggle had taken place. Jaime Contreras and his father’s Jeep were later found near the Hueco Tanks State Park. Contreras had a swollen hand and a deep cut on his right pinky finger, which he attributed to “battling.”
When questioned about his father, Contreras told officers he was “in heaven” and claimed that an alien had harvested his father’s organs a few days prior. Another family member informed detectives that she had spoken to the victim twice on April 5, during which he expressed concerns about Contreras’ erratic behavior, including threats and harm to his pets, leading him to contact the police.
Court documents also revealed that a neighbor had observed Contreras behaving strangely and shouting in the street. In 2023, officers were called to the residence after reports that Contreras believed his father was an alien. He was seen wandering the neighborhood with a decapitated rabbit. Contreras is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $2 million bond.
