Man Charged for Threatening President on Facebook

A Florida man, Glen DeCicco, has been apprehended by local authorities following allegations of making threats against President Donald Trump on social media. The Jupiter Police Department reported that DeCicco was charged with making written threats to kill, and was taken into custody without any complications.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the local police and the U.S. Secret Service. The authorities were investigating DeCicco’s comments on social media directed at President Trump. The investigation was initiated after the Jupiter Police Department was alerted to a concerning post on DeCicco’s Facebook page.

DeCicco’s social media activity was thoroughly reviewed by detectives, who confirmed that he had indeed made a written threat against the President. His Facebook posts included a mix of general criticisms of Trump’s tariffs and support for the University of Connecticut’s March Madness campaign. One of his posts was captioned “ass-ass-inate!”.

Florida has seen a number of threats against the 45th president. Notably, Ryan Wesley Routh, a would-be assassin, showed up at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf course armed with a gun while the then-Republican nominee was playing golf in September. Earlier this year, a woman from West Palm Beach was also charged for making violent threats against the president on Facebook.

In a similar incident in July, Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The same month, Jupiter Police arrested another man who had posted threats to kill Trump and JD Vance on Facebook.

The authorities continue to monitor social media platforms for any threats against public figures, emphasizing the importance of responsible online behavior.
