A tragic incident unfolded in Houston, Texas, when a man in his 20s was fatally shot while on a FaceTime call with his girlfriend. The Houston Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on a recent Saturday while the man was waiting for a bus in the Independence Heights neighborhood.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was engaged in a conversation with his girlfriend when an unidentified man approached him. The girlfriend, who was still on the call, reported that the conversation between the two men seemed friendly. However, the call abruptly ended when the victim started running and the phone went silent.
The girlfriend, concerned about the sudden end of their call, contacted the police. She was able to track her boyfriend’s location using his phone. Upon reaching the location, she discovered his phone and soon after, his body in a nearby grassy area. According to the police, the man succumbed to his injuries before emergency services could reach him.
The Houston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information about the fatal shooting. They revealed that the victim had recently started working at Jackson’s Barbershop, a historic establishment in the same neighborhood where the incident occurred. The barbershop’s employees confirmed his employment and spoke highly of him.
