MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — In a shocking incident, a man from Milwaukee shot and killed his wife on her 60th birthday because he claimed he was “tired” of being yelled at. Timothy Darnell Lewis, 59, has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide and use of a dangerous weapon in the killing of his wife, Jacqueline Beason.
The tragic incident occurred last Saturday near a beauty salon in downtown Milwaukee. According to court documents, Lewis told investigators that he took out his gun after his wife and her daughter were yelling at him. He admitted to shooting her one time, believing he hit her in the jaw. Lewis claimed sole responsibility for the act.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Beason unconscious in her car, slumped towards the passenger side. Despite the officer’s attempt to provide CPR, she was declared dead when paramedics arrived. A medical examination revealed that Beason had been shot in the left cheek, with the bullet exiting from the back of her head.
The victim’s daughter was on the phone with her mother moments before the shooting. During the call, the daughter overheard an argument and her mother accusing Lewis of disrespecting her and her daughters. The daughter yelled, “He has a gun?” to which Beason reportedly responded, “It’s fake.” The call abruptly ended after Lewis allegedly said, “There you go.”
The daughter of the victim expressed her devastation on social media, writing, “My life will NEVER ever be the same. I went from celebrating my Moms 60th birthday to planning her funeral all within 24 hours. This has to be a nightmare.”
This tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the need for increased awareness and support for victims. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
