Rafael Antonio Hernandez Gonzalez, a 42-year-old man, is currently being sought by Houston police in connection with two murders that occurred on the same day on August 18. Gonzalez is suspected of killing his former employer, Josue Geovanni Argueta Giron, 45, and his own daughter, Wendy Guadalupe Guzman, 21.
Giron was killed in his garage on Grove Glen Drive as he was loading tools into his SUV for work around 6:35 a.m. Gonzalez was identified as a suspect due to his previous employment with Giron and their long-term association.
The additional information released on Friday implicated Gonzalez in Guzman’s death as well. Guzman was killed in their shared apartment on West Bellfort around 5:45 a.m. Investigators believe Gonzalez fled the scenes in a GMC Yukon, which has since been recovered.
As of Friday afternoon, Gonzalez, also known as “Rafa,” remains at large. His photograph has been released to the public in the hope of aiding his capture. Authorities believe he may have altered his appearance by shaving his head.
The Houston Police Department is urging anyone with information about Gonzalez’s whereabouts to contact their Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
