Man Shots Driver “Taking Too Long to Park”

A dispute over a parking space at a Florida Airbnb escalated into a violent confrontation, culminating in a shooting incident. The alleged shooter, identified as 29-year-old Anthony Christopher Russian, is now facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and the use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly trying to park his truck in a tight spot when the incident occurred.

According to local law enforcement, the incident took place shortly after 11 p.m. on April 11. Police were alerted to the situation by a ShotSpotter alert, which indicated gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers found the victim bleeding inside the Airbnb property where he was staying. The victim declined ambulance services, opting to transport himself to a hospital. He provided a statement to the police the following day.

The incident reportedly began when the victim was attempting to park his Toyota Tacoma in a narrow spot near the Airbnb. Russian, who was driving a Porsche, allegedly pulled up behind the victim and began honking his horn, urging the victim to speed up his parking process.

Following the parking incident, the victim confronted Russian about his honking. Russian allegedly responded by telling the victim that he was taking too long to park. As the confrontation escalated, Russian is accused of pulling out a firearm and aiming it at the victim’s torso. He allegedly pulled the trigger, but the gun malfunctioned.

Despite the malfunction, Russian reportedly attempted to adjust the chamber of the gun. As the victim turned to walk away, he heard a gunshot and felt a burning sensation in his right foot, indicating he had been shot.

Court records indicate that Russian is scheduled for a hearing on Monday. As of Friday, he remained in police custody.
