LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — PT Organics Limited is recalling select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit puree pouches because a packaging defect may leave strands of soft plastic inside the product, according to a company announcement posted by the Food and Drug Administration.
The voluntary recall covers certain 4-ounce pouches sold nationwide through Kroger, Meijer and Target stores from March 6 through July 13. No injuries had been reported when the recall was announced July 21, and the company said no other flavors, products or best-before dates were affected.
The recalled pouches have the barcode 8 15367 01078 0 and a lane number 4 printed in black ink along the rear right-hand seam. They also carry one of six best-before dates: Jan. 19, Jan. 20, March 17, March 18, May 14 or May 15, 2027.
PT Organics said the recall began after its packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. The company inspected finished products made with that packaging and found a strand of soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of a small number of pouches.
The strand may detach from the pouch’s inner liner and come out when the package is squeezed, according to the company. The recall concerns the packaging material rather than a reported problem with the banana and strawberry puree itself.
The FDA posts company recall announcements as a public service and does not endorse the companies or products involved. The agency’s notice identifies the recall reason as the potential presence of soft plastic in the finished product.
Consumers and caregivers can compare pouches with the listed barcode, lane number and best-before dates. The company said recalled products should not be eaten or fed to another person and should instead be discarded or returned to the place where they were purchased.

The recall remains limited to the identified Banana & Strawberry pouches. No additional products or reported injuries had been added to the FDA notice as of Thursday.
