Missing Teen Found Dead in Cemetery

The body of a 15-year-old boy, previously reported missing, was found in a Detroit cemetery, as per local law enforcement reports. The teenager, named Lawrence Dowl, was discovered with gloves and a ski mask on, prompting authorities to treat the case as a possible homicide.

The discovery of Dowl’s body was made on Thursday at Mt. Hazel Cemetery by a visitor paying respects to a loved one. Dowl was last seen two days before the discovery, getting into a vehicle, as reported by local news station WDIV.

Captain Marcus Thirlkill, from Detroit’s homicide division, provided some information to the press. He stated that the young man found in the cemetery was dressed in gloves and what appeared to be a ski mask. Although the investigation is still in its early stages, authorities are approaching the case as a homicide.

According to family members who spoke to Fox 2 Detroit, Dowl was last seen on Tuesday. He was observed entering a white Dodge Durango in the local vicinity. The teenager had left his cell phone at home, complicating efforts by authorities to trace his movements.

A friend of Dowl’s, who was allegedly driving the car Dowl was last seen getting into, informed the family that he had dropped Dowl and another boy off in the area. Following this, the two boys are believed to have left on foot.

Dowl was reported missing on Wednesday, triggering an extensive search by the Detroit Police Department and Michigan State Police. As of now, authorities have not released any additional details.
