Netflix Star’s Cause of Death Revealed

South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, recognized for her performance in the 2023 Netflix series “Bloodhounds,” has tragically passed away at the young age of 24, as confirmed by police reports on Monday. The actress was found lifeless in her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul on Sunday around 4:50 p.m. local time by a friend who had planned to visit her.

Authorities have expressed their suspicion that the actress may have taken her own life, and they are proceeding with the investigation under the assumption of suicide. They also verified that no suicide note was discovered at the scene. The investigation into her untimely death is still in progress, with police stating that there were no signs of foul play.

Kim Sae-ron embarked on her acting journey at the young age of nine and quickly gained fame with her roles in the 2010 action film “The Man from Nowhere” and the 2012 thriller “The Neighbor.” However, her career faced a setback in May 2022 when she was implicated in a drunk driving incident, resulting in her crashing her car into a roadside electrical transformer box.

The incident, which was extensively covered by the South China Morning Post, resulted in a fine of 20 million won, equivalent to $13,850, and compelled the actress to withdraw from the public eye. The public reaction was so intense that she was forced to resign from her role in the drama series “Trolley.”

Despite her efforts to reclaim her place in the spotlight in the subsequent year, health issues further obstructed her comeback. Her final appearance was in the action series “Bloodhounds,” the same series that had previously earned her significant acclaim. Throughout her career, Kim Sae-ron received numerous awards and was honored as “Best New Actress” at several Korean arts awards ceremonies, according to her IMDb page.
