NFL Kicker Accused of Sexual Assault Mid-Flight

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Brandon McManus, a former Jacksonville Jaguars player and current Washington Commanders kicker, has been hit with a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault against two flight attendants. The alleged incidents occurred last year during a Jaguars charter flight overseas, according to court documents cited by ESPN.

The lawsuit identifies the two women as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II. They claim that McManus sexually assaulted them while on the plane. Both women allege that he rubbed and ground against them in a sexual manner during the flight. They also accuse the Jaguars organization of failing to supervise McManus or create a safe environment.

According to the lawsuit, the flight quickly turned into a party, with McManus allegedly throwing $100 bills at flight attendants in exchange for dancing inappropriately for him. After Doe II confronted him, McManus reportedly walked away. Doe I stated that one of McManus’ teammates appeared ashamed when she made eye contact with him during the first assault. The suit also claims that McManus attempted to kiss Doe I.

Doe I and Doe II have suffered significant mental anguish, anxiety, and emotional distress as a result of the alleged assaults, according to the lawsuit. The flight was their first time traveling with the Jaguars. The suit also alleges that other teammates disregarded the flight attendants’ personal space.

In response to the lawsuit, the Jaguars released a statement acknowledging the claims and emphasizing the importance of building an organization with people who represent the community and the game with the highest character and class. The Commanders, on the other hand, issued a statement saying they were aware of the lawsuit and taking the allegations seriously. They stated that they were looking into the matter and would reserve further comment at this time.

McManus joined the Commanders this year after spending his previous nine seasons with the Denver Broncos. Last season, while playing for the Jaguars, he made 30 out of 37 field goal attempts.
