John Paul Miller, a pastor from South Carolina, is currently under scrutiny due to allegations of sexual assault that reportedly occurred almost 30 years ago. A lawsuit has been filed in Horry County Circuit Court, accusing Miller, now 44, of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 1998. The girl, identified as “Jane Doe” in the lawsuit, was allegedly assaulted at All Nations Church, where Miller’s father was the pastor. The lawsuit claims that the assault began in his father’s office and continued in Miller’s truck.
Miller, who currently serves as the pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, is also accused of assaulting the same woman in 2023. According to the lawsuit, the woman encountered Miller during a visit to the city, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately under the pretense of a hug.
The lawsuit also alleges that Miller used a Bible verse to rationalize his actions, reportedly telling the woman, “No man is without sin and temptation. God understands that.” The lawsuit implicates both All Nations Church and Solid Rock Church, accusing them and their leaders of concealing a pattern of alleged abuse over the years.
The alleged victim has expressed feelings of “immense guilt” following the death of Miller’s wife, Mica Miller, in 2024. She believes that if she had come forward sooner, she might have been able to prevent further harm. Mica Miller, who was estranged from her husband at the time, died by suicide just days after serving him with divorce papers.
The lawsuit comes amidst allegations that Miller had abused his wife. Mica Miller’s family has urged authorities to investigate her death thoroughly. Prior to her death, she had contacted the police several times to report allegations against her husband, including claims that he had groomed her when she was a teenager before they married in 2017.
Miller has categorically denied all allegations of grooming and abuse. He has previously stated that his wife suffered from mental illness and had attempted suicide on multiple occasions. Miller’s attorney declined to comment on the lawsuit.
