Police Captured 24-Year-Old Suspect in Grisly Decapitation Case

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Authorities in California have now captured a 24-year-old man in connection with a gruesome decapitation case. Luis Gustavo Aroyo-Lopez, of Santa Rosa, is wanted for the killing of a female relative, after which he fled the scene with the victim’s head.

On Thursday afternoon, officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department responded to a possible homicide at a residence on Pomo Trail. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a woman who had been decapitated. Shockingly, her head was nowhere to be found at the scene.

After a preliminary investigation, detectives confirmed that Aroyo-Lopez, a recently released ex-convict and relative of the victim, was the prime suspect. Police believe that he took the victim’s head with him when he left the residence.

Neighbors reported seeing him casually walking toward the victim’s residence earlier that day. One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, recalled the victim’s apparent surprise and happiness upon seeing Aroyo-Lopez. However, the situation took a horrifying turn when the victim’s sister discovered the headless body several hours later.

Authorities had initially issued an urgent warning that Aroyo-Lopez should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the case is advised to contact the Santa Rosa Police Department.

This unsettling incident has left the community shocked and on edge. The Santa Rosa Police Department is actively investigating the case.
