Police Sergeant Murders Family in Home

NEW CITY, N.Y. — A police sergeant in suburban New York shot and killed his wife and two sons before taking his own life, authorities said. Watson Morgan, a sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department, was found dead along with his wife, Ornela Morgan, 43, and their two sons, ages 10 and 12, in their home in New City.

The chilling discovery was made by police after Morgan failed to show up for his evening shift. Clarkstown Police Department stated that it is believed that Morgan killed his family members before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All four bodies had gunshot wounds, and a handgun was recovered at the scene.

Watson Morgan, 49, had been with the New York Police Department before joining the Bronxville force. He had been serving as a sergeant since 2016.
