Polygamist and Lovers Arrested for Kidnapping and Torture in Revenge Plot

An Ohio woman, her spouse, and her four paramours have been incarcerated following allegations of kidnapping and torturing a 26-year-old man. The victim was reportedly held captive in a hotel room for a week as part of a revenge plot orchestrated by the woman. The accused individuals are Martina Jones, 28, her husband Michael Esqueda, 28, and her lovers Aaron Bradshaw, 49, Austin Bradshaw, 28, David Cessna, 26, and Chance Johnston, 27. They were apprehended on March 22 for allegedly terrorizing the victim at a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, as per the Toledo Police Department.

The group, who reportedly have multiple children together, are accused of brutally assaulting the victim with a metal baseball bat, forcing him to stand for extended periods, and restricting his food and drink intake to once a day over the course of a week. The victim was also subjected to physical abuse in the form of punches and kicks, and was allowed a total of only 10 hours of sleep during his captivity, according to the charges.

The Maumee Chief of Police, Josh Sprow, described the victim’s ordeal as a week-long torture and assault. The victim’s injuries were reportedly the result of being hit with a baseball bat, fists, elbows, and being stomped on while on the ground, leading to multiple fractured bones.

According to Sprow, Jones instructed her lovers to kidnap the victim on March 14 and execute the horrific revenge plot. This was allegedly in retaliation for an incident at her home involving a dog fight, which resulted in Jones breaking her arm. However, Jones reportedly lied to her lovers, blaming the victim for her injury.

The victim was eventually rescued on March 21 when his captors allowed him to visit a Speedway convenience store. There, he managed to communicate with a stranger who contacted his mother. Upon receiving the call, the victim’s mother rushed to the hotel room and freed her son, who was found covered in injuries.

Sprow described the situation as unusual, involving multiple adult men in a relationship with a woman, and the occurrence of a serious assault and kidnapping. The six suspects were each indicted on charges of kidnapping, three counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence. They are each being held on a $200,000 bond.
