K-pop star HyunA shocked her fans when she fainted during a live performance on November 9. The incident took place while she was performing her hit song “Bubble Pop” at a music festival in Macau, China. Following the unfortunate event, HyunA took to social media to express her remorse.
In a heartfelt message, originally written in Korean and later translated, HyunA apologized to her fans. She confessed that she had no memory of the performance and pledged to work on enhancing her stamina. She also expressed her wish for things to proceed as planned and committed to working diligently towards that goal.
Her fans were swift to rally behind her, filling her comment section with messages of support and encouragement. One fan noted that the issue was not about stamina or professionalism, but rather the need for K-pop companies to prioritize the health and well-being of their artists. The fan argued that artists appear more appealing when they are healthy and content, rather than overworked and battling unhealthy weight loss.
Another fan criticized the person who had advised HyunA to apologize, suggesting that the same individual might have been responsible for her health issues. The fan advised HyunA to pay attention to her body and take necessary breaks, underlining the importance of both mental and physical health.
HyunA’s fainting incident followed a series of social media posts where she focused on her weight. Just days before her performance in China, she had shared a photo of a scale on Instagram, indicating that she was still striving to reach her ideal weight. Earlier in October, she had shared several photos that seemed to motivate herself to lose more weight.
HyunA began her K-pop career with the group Wonder Girls in 2007. She embarked on her solo career in 2010 with the single “Change” and released her EP “Bubble Pop!” in 2011. In addition to her solo career, HyunA has also performed with other groups, including Trouble Maker and Triple H.
