Jennifer Nicole Rivas, a well-known TikTok influencer and television presenter, tragically passed away in her Tegucigalpa, Honduras home at the young age of 21. The unfortunate news was shared by HCH Televisión Digital on Wednesday. Rivas’ family suspects that an epileptic seizure, a condition she was receiving treatment for, could have led to her premature demise.
Authorities have since confirmed that Rivas’ death was due to natural causes. The young influencer was a significant presence in the Honduran media scene, presenting shows on the local television channel, CHTV. Additionally, she was gaining popularity on social media, boasting a following of 100,000 on TikTok.
Following the announcement of her passing, an outpouring of tributes from various sectors of the Honduran entertainment industry ensued. Among the mourners was Gazù Bbx, the host of the Honduran podcast “El Showsero TV.” Bbx expressed profound grief over the loss of Rivas, whom he characterized as a vibrant and enthusiastic individual.
Rivas remained active on social media until her final hours. She shared a photo of herself on a pickleball court on her Instagram account shortly before her passing. The caption of the photo, when translated from Spanish, read “Getting ready.”
In addition to her roles as a social media influencer and TV host, Rivas was also a student at the National Autonomous University of Honduras, the country’s largest and highest-ranked institution. She was working towards a degree in journalism, as indicated in her Instagram bio.
The news of Rivas’ passing has left her fans heartbroken. Many expressed their sorrow and paid their respects on her last TikTok video, posted on Monday. One fan expressed gratitude for her unwavering belief in them, while others thanked her for the happiness she brought into their lives.
Prior to her death, Rivas was affiliated with “Los Venados 504,” a content creation group. Her untimely passing follows the recent death of another influencer, Tang Feiji, who died during a livestream video in central China.
