School Lunch Laby Admits to Sexual Acts with Student

Amy Nicole Wigginton, a 41-year-old cafeteria worker at an Alabama school, has admitted to engaging in sexual acts with a male student who is under 19 years old. According to court documents, Wigginton, a married mother, confessed to having the student at her Rogersville home for the encounters on two separate occasions, March 7 and 31.

Local police confronted Wigginton about the allegations, leading to her confession. She waived her rights and was taken into custody earlier this week. The identity and exact age of the student involved have not been disclosed by authorities. It’s worth noting that Wigginton is not being charged with having sex with a minor.

Wigginton is facing two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act. In Alabama, the age of consent is 16 years old. Wigginton was employed by the Lauderdale County Schools system, which includes four high schools and seven elementary and middle schools.

In response to the allegations, the Lauderdale County Board of Education issued a statement. The board stated that they are aware of the allegations and that the employee has been placed on administrative leave. They pledged to continue cooperating with law enforcement officials and declined to comment further on the matter.

Wigginton was arrested last week and is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Jail on a $100,000 bond. This incident follows a similar case involving Christina Formella, a married special education teacher in Illinois, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old male student.

Formella was arrested on March 16, and a video of her arrest, in which she breaks down upon hearing the charges, has since gone viral. The 30-year-old teacher later claimed that she was being framed by her young victim and targeted for being “good looking.”
