Student Falls to His Death Off Hotel Balcony Days Before Graduation

A tragic incident occurred during a pre-graduation vacation in the Bahamas when a fraternity brother from Bentley University fell from a balcony and died, as reported by authorities and school officials. The student, Gaurav Jaisingh, was on an annual senior trip when the unfortunate event took place. The news of his death was confirmed by the Massachusetts-based university just a few days before the commencement ceremony scheduled for Friday.

Jaisingh, who was preparing for his graduation, was remembered by his peers. Sydney Bazin, a fellow senior, expressed her grief, stating that it was heartbreaking and hoped that Jaisingh would be honored during the graduation ceremony.

The incident took place at a hotel on Paradise Island. The Royal Bahamas Police were alerted about a young man who had accidentally fallen from an upper-level balcony. Upon arrival, they found Jaisingh unresponsive on a lower floor. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

Bentley University expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a significant tragedy for the school community. The university extended its deepest condolences to Jaisingh’s family, friends, and loved ones. While the local authorities are investigating the incident, preliminary findings suggest that Jaisingh accidentally fell from the balcony. The university promised to share more information as it becomes available, while respecting the privacy of Jaisingh’s family.

Jaisingh, originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, was pursuing a degree in finance. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and was actively involved in several other campus groups, as per his LinkedIn profile.

The news of Jaisingh’s death has left the university community in shock, especially as it occurred just days before the graduation ceremony. Senior Isabella Abeiga expressed her disbelief, stating that it was the last thing she expected to happen so close to graduation.
