Suspicious Death of Man Found Sitting in Chair Sparks Homicide Investigation

A homicide investigation is currently underway in Indianapolis following the suspicious death of a man in a residence on the city’s west side. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a call late Monday evening regarding a potential fatality at a home located on the 500 block of S. Holt Road.

Upon arrival, officers interacted with several individuals residing in the home. They were informed that the deceased gentleman had been seated and had exhibited abnormal breathing patterns prior to his death. This information was disclosed in a homicide brief released on Wednesday by IMPD Lt. Shane Foley.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene shortly after the police, where they confirmed the individual’s death. The IMPD later identified the deceased as an adult male.

Homicide detectives from the IMPD were also present at the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office subsequently confirmed that the man’s death was indeed a homicide. The identity of the victim will be released once the next of kin have been notified, as per police protocol.

The IMPD is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to reach out to IMPD Homicide Det. Sgt. Michael Duke. Contact can be made either via phone call at (317) 327-3475 or through email at Michael.Duke@indy.gov.
