A Texas-based elementary school teacher is facing serious allegations of inappropriate conduct with a 7-year-old student. The teacher, identified as 29-year-old Augustine Rodney Rendon, is accused of forcing the young girl to spread her legs so he could take a photograph up her skirt.
The incident reportedly took place in the classroom, where Rendon allegedly called the student to his desk. He is said to have positioned his leg between hers, instructed her to separate them, and then placed his phone under her skirt. The student reported hearing the camera on his phone click multiple times.
The young girl later confided in her mother about the disturbing incident, leading to a police report being filed in March. The student also expressed her belief to investigators that her teacher had taken explicit photographs.
Following the allegations, law enforcement officers conducted a search of Rendon’s residence. They reportedly found eight photographs on his phone that were believed to have been taken during the incident.
The mother of the student was able to identify her daughter’s clothing in the photographs. She recognized her daughter’s shoes and shorts, which were attached to her skirt, in the images.
Rendon has since been charged with felony invasive visual recording. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of child safety and the need for stringent measures to protect students in educational settings.
