The boys, aged between 12 and 14, are believed to have attempted to rob a man at an apartment complex in Northwest Harris County. The situation escalated when the intended victim fought back, reportedly in self-defense, leading to the boys sustaining gunshot wounds.

Authorities arrived at the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m., where they found one of the boys in a critical condition. He was immediately transported to a trauma center for emergency surgery. As the investigation unfolded, two more injured boys were discovered and taken to the hospital. The shooter, whose identity has not been revealed, voluntarily surrendered to the police.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the man claimed he fired his weapon in response to the boys, who were allegedly armed, trying to rob him in his home. The incident left the neighborhood in shock, with residents coming out of their homes to witness the commotion.

A local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the chaotic scene. “I heard a scream and ran out to see what was happening. I saw a young boy on the ground and immediately called for help,” the resident said. “It was shocking to realize it was just a kid.”

The incident has sparked a wave of shock and concern among local residents, highlighting the growing concerns about juvenile crime in the area. The community is now grappling with the reality of such young individuals being involved in violent crimes.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. A fourth boy involved in the incident was taken into custody for questioning. Investigators are also examining the weapons allegedly used in the attempted robbery.

The incident has sparked a broader discussion about youth crime and the factors that lead minors to engage in such dangerous activities. Community leaders are calling for increased outreach and support for at-risk youth to prevent similar incidents in the future.
