Two Dead in Nightclub Shooting

A late-night shooting outside a nightclub in southeast Houston has left two people dead and five others injured. The incident occurred just before midnight at Bugs Bar, located near the intersection of the Gulf Freeway and 610 on Dixie Drive. The Houston Police Department is currently on the hunt for the suspect involved in the shooting.

According to authorities, the shooting was a drive-by incident. A four-door sedan, described as either gray or silver, pulled up to the club and began firing at the crowd gathered outside. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while another died later at the hospital due to their injuries. Some of the injured managed to seek medical help on their own, while emergency services transported others.

The investigation into the incident is still underway. The area around Dixie Drive remains active as investigators continue to gather evidence. Crime scene markers and police vehicles are a common sight as officers work tirelessly to piece together the events of the tragic night.

This is not the first time Bugs Bar has been the scene of such violence. In March, a dispute inside the club escalated and resulted in a fatal shooting outside the venue. This recurring pattern of violence has left the local community on edge, leading to an increased police presence in the area.

The Houston Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information related to the latest incident, especially details about the vehicle involved in the drive-by shooting. The department stresses the importance of community involvement in solving crimes and enhancing neighborhood safety.

Bugs Bar, known for drawing large crowds, particularly on weekends, has sparked safety and security concerns among patrons and nearby residents. As the investigation continues, officials are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
