Police said an adult man and woman were found dead after officers responded to a shooting Sunday afternoon near Twin Mills Road.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Two adults were found dead Sunday afternoon after police responded to a reported shooting in the 1800 block of Twin Mills Road, an area that includes an Amazon facility, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Emergency Communications and Citizen Services received the shooting report at about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Officers who arrived at the scene found an adult man and an adult woman dead. Police said there was no ongoing threat to the public and described the investigation as active.
The identities of the two people had not been released Sunday evening. Authorities also had not disclosed their ages, hometowns or whether they knew each other. Police had not announced a motive or provided a detailed account of what happened before officers arrived.
Local television reporting identified the location as the parking lot of an Amazon facility near Twin Mills Road and Dam Neck Road. Police publicly described the scene by its street block rather than identifying either victim as an Amazon employee, contractor or visitor.
Authorities had not said whether another person was believed to have been involved. Initial police information did not announce a search for a suspect, and investigators said the incident did not pose a continuing danger to the surrounding community.
